No. Your brain is classical, and we don't claim otherwise. The quantum behavior comes entirely from IBM's entangled qubits. Your brain's role is to personalize the experiment by setting the measurement angles from your bilateral EEG.
So what's actually "mine" about the result?
The settings. Your unique left‑vs‑right brain signal chose the measurement angles, so your specific run — your S‑value, on that backend, with that job ID — is something no one else can reproduce.
Is the quantum result real or a simulation?
Real. When IBM hardware is selected, your job runs on actual quantum computers (e.g. ibm_fez, ibm_marrakesh) and returns a job ID that resolves on quantum.ibm.com. There's also a fast on‑device mode, clearly labeled — but the verifiable runs are real hardware.
Why does the S‑value sometimes come back below 2.83 — or a run fail?
Real quantum hardware is noisy and shared. A typical run lands above 2.0 but below the ideal 2.83 (we've seen 2.6350 on ibm_fez). Occasionally a run times out in IBM's queue — that's the price of genuine hardware. Just run again.
Do I need NextSense hardware?
Yes. Labs features run on your live ear‑EEG signal, so you need NextSense earbuds paired to the app.
